Dear members of the Creating Care network,
We are pleased to welcome you to our first newsletter and share with you the purpose of our project. In this email you will find out about our aim and objectives, what we wish to accomplish and our activity so far. |

Creating Care aims to develop structures of social support and care to fit the needs of professionals in the foster care system and the needs of families.
Creating Care will invest in the training and support of professionals and foster care families, as well as address the shortcomings in terms of the support offered to foster families after the fostering process, and thus, contribute to the process of deinstitutionalization.

During its lifetime, the project will produce 5 main results that will come to the aid of professionals and foster care families.
1. A Tool for Understanding Professionals’ Perceptions and Experiences in terms of recruitment and communication with foster families.
2. A Tool for Understanding Foster families’ needs, perceptions and experiences.
3. A Family engagement tool.
4. A Training course on communicating skills and strategies in the process of recruiting foster families.
5. An App for foster families.

The Creating Care consortium is formed of nine organisations from seven European countries, each with a solid background in their field of work, thus providing holistic expertise to the project.
The partners are:
Innsbruck University, Compass Gmbh (Austria), Kmop - Social Action And Innovation Centre (Greece), European Association For Social Innovation (Romania), Mise Hero (Czech Republic), Amadora Inova, Aproximar (Portugal), San Giuseppe Onlus (Italy), Afeji Hauts-De-France (France).

We are now in the final stages of developing the tool for understanding professionals’ perceptions and experiences in terms of recruitment and communication with foster families. We have also begun organising and conducting focus groups with families to understand foster families’ needs, perceptions and experiences regarding the fostering process.
