"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."
 William Butler Yeats

Dear members,

After two challenging, yet exciting years, our project is approaching the end of a very important stage. Without any further ado, the Social Connections partnership is delighted to share with you the results of our hard work from the past months and what we have in store for you, for the near future.

THE TOOL-BOX FOR E-SOCIAL WORK

One of the main results of the Social Connections project was the development of a Tool-Box for E-Social Work. The instruments and the collection of lessons learnt and recommendations to support the transferability of the training programme for Social Work trainers are now ready for you to download and read.

MOOCs FOR C-VET IN DIGITAL SOCIAL WORK

Presently, we are working on the third intellectual output of the Social Connections project: MOOCs for C-VET in digital social work. Under the guidance of Virtual Campus LDA, our team has built materials developed for the toolbox and elaborated a series of courses for social professionals.
Now that the courses have been designed, each partner will start the piloting stage.

MODENA TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING

The Social Connection partnership met on 7th of February in Modena, Italy, for his final Transnational Partner Meeting of the project.  It was a great opportunity to meet and discuss several topics, such as:
  • How to guarantee high standard results through a work of improvement and refinement of the achieved results;
  • How to best plan the piloting of the e-learning course in each country;
  • How to organise and evaluate Multiplayer Events in each partner country;
  • Assess the impact Social Connection has had for each partner organisation.

The partners have developed several strategies, which will be implemented as they approach the final month of the project.

The project has not only resulted in improved skills and knowledge growth for the C-VET educators in the social sector, but also in improvements for the participating partner organisations, which have developed new skills and abilities to apply in this field.

MULTIPLIER EVENTS

The last multiplier events of our project will take place in each of the partner countries and will gather VET professionals, representatives from VET organisations and schools, adult educators, professionals from the social sectors, representative of final beneficiaries (organisations of people with disabilities, old age etc.), social workers, academics in fields related to the project, NGOs and organisations who might play a multiplier role.

There will be 3 working sessions followed by a Q&A segment. Follow our socials and the website to learn about the event in each country.
