Before the Next Door initiative took shape, our research efforts led us to discover that there was a lack of support for community workers in terms of innovative and interactive tools to work with, in care intervention. Furthermore, the already available tools were not easily accessible, or easy to interact with, thus reducing their potential for support with populations in need.
In this sense, the creation of a digital tool that could support neighbours and professionals to better protect and care for senior citizens, was of extreme need. The Next Door platform has therefore become an important learning and communication resource between professionals and the community.

MEET THE NEXT DOOR DIGITAL PLATFORM

To address that problem, we have designed and created the Next Door Services Map.
The Next Door Services Map is an instrument destined to motivate and support neighbours and community workers in reducing isolation of elderly people.
On this platform, you will find relevant information on services available to older people in your local area as well as a calendar of activities dedicated to seniors and supporting intergenerational connections.
